Psalm 105:4-6 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. 5 Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, 6 you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
One of the most important and common exhortations of the Bible is to remember and consider the actions and activities of our God. One of the most available methods that we have to encourage and strengthen our faith is the power of testimony. The Scriptures testify to the power, love and faithfulness of our God. Our lives also testify to the works of our God. I was recently with a young woman who had a broken foot, doctor diagnosed and painful. We prayed for her and God healed her, right there on the spot. She dropped her crutches and was walking up and down the stairs in utter amazement and joy. Since that day, she has turned her life back to God. Her relationship with family, boyfriend and church community has taken a wonderful turn for the better. The power of remembering and sharing what God did has changed her world. I have had the joy of sharing her testimony with many people and it has encouraged them and raised their faith.
You have many testimonies in the Book to look at every day and see your world change. You probably have many testimonies of God’s faithfulness in your life. I can share five different occasions where God has miraculously provided for the needs of my family and ministry, and those are just the big ones. Here is a challenge: choose a miracle, or work of God in the Bible, the miraculous catch of fish in Luke 5, or the healing of little boy in Matthew 17 for example. Read it; consider and pray over all that it means. What are you learning about God? Ask Him to do works like this in your life now. I love to sit, praise, and ponder the works of my God. The power of testimony is that they raise your faith to see God do it again! Look to the Lord! Focus on Him and it will change your world.
