The Love and Humility of God

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

There is no greater manifestation of love than what is revealed in the humble person of Jesus Christ.  He literally suffered the brutal death on the cross, and the wrath of His Father, to bring you into His arms of love. For the joy of receiving each of us as His children, He endured the cross. His sacrifice made the way to come into eternal life and relationship with Him. This perfect love and humility is our hope, joy and model.

We are now called to learn from His humility, and in simple recognition of our broken sinfulness, ask for and receive the cleansing flood of grace that is the humility of Christ. Today there will be an opportunity in your world to die to your own life that someone else might live.  It may be as simple as holding a door open for a stranger, or as deep as giving your time, energy and money to love another person.  Today we choose to learn from your humility Jesus.  We choose to love and confess our dependence on Your gracious love for us.  We need You!  We are lost without You.  Thank You for saving us!  Thank You for all the ways Your gracious love and humility is teaching us how now to live.   Thank You!  Thank You!   Thank You!  Thank You!
