Love One Another As I Have Loved You!

John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

I do not think the Church of Christ realizes how important and powerful this command is.  Loving one-another is the primary way God forms the character and nature of His Church; both personally and corporately.  This set of choices to live in a community of the love of Christ is the source and forming ground for all that the Church is to be.  God is love, and as we share “God” together, He literally forms us as people and as His bride.

I cannot encourage you enough to pray for and practice the love of God.  This means that each one of us must prioritize community, and relationship with God and His people.  As we grow in, and manifest His love, we are healed, changed and formed in ways that mere knowledge can never achieve.  Not to mention this is exactly what our broken world needs so desperately, the love of God influencing and changing our broken world.

Brothers and sisters, make this a central focus of your prayer and pursuit of Christ – Let’s love one another as Christ as loved us.
