After Paul greets and exhorts the Philippian church to live a life worthy of the gospel, he gives them this set of very practical exhortations and encouragements to grow in the mind of Christ. Take note of his encouragement to the “same mind.”

Paul is exhorting us to take note, to look, to listen for aspects of Christ’s encouragement, comfort of love, Spirit presence, affection or sympathy and – LISTEN, examine and imitate that beauty and grace.  

In a very dark and difficult world, this simple set of truths is a must for us as children of God.  Find all the beautiful things that Christ is doing around you and set your mind, your thinking, on them to experience encouragement, comfort, affection and sympathy leading to the joy of relationship with God and His people. Remember, this beautiful mind is ours in Christ Jesus; let us live in it today!
