Luke 12:22-26 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Do not worry about your life! These are the words of Jesus Christ to each of us personally spoken. After he makes this statement, He gives this direction, He calls us to consider the ravens. He calls us to consider, perceive, observe how God provides abundantly for all of His creation. He then reminds us that we are the most valuable aspect of His creation, the only aspect of His creation created “in His image.” Worry gets us nowhere but down in heart and mind. Fixing our thoughts on God’s love for us, lifts us up, raising our heart to new life. Jesus loves you and He is going to always give you what you really need, what is best for you. You can count on that, just look at the birds of the air.
