Keep Your Eyes on Jesus – The enemy is Scared!
Dear Friends we see a graphic array of turmoil, tragedy and violence every day in our media. It can be truly frightening! I believe that this will be the norm for some time to come. We are in the end times, whether Jesus will return in a week, or in 70 more years we do not know. But, I do know there are a few key lessons we need to take to heart now in this dark day.
The enemy is raging! Ignore him, fix your eyes on Jesus and do what He is doing. I believe the workers of darkness are very afraid because they see the power and coming of the presence and rule of God in this land. The enemy wants us to fix our eyes on fear and Jesus is telling us to find our peace and rest in Him! The enemy is throwing a handful of dirt in your face, but the rains of God are coming. Keep your eyes on Jesus!
Your trials may not, probably won’t, end quickly in this season. The Bible is full of saints suffering under the cause and purpose of the King. The good news is that He is always with us, and uses all the junk of the enemy to form and shape you beautifully. I sincerely encourage you to pray less for the removal of the trial, and to pray more to learn and be formed by it. If we examine Paul’s prayers, he never prays for the circumstances to change, but for the formation of the saints and the glory of God. In the same light, we must choose the faith filled response of James:
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
The last thing I want to remind you of is this. You can’t stay healthy and full of joy alone. Stay in fellowship. Join a small group and get close to a family of believers. Stay in thanksgiving and intimate prayer with Him. Find your rest in Him! Jesus alone is our shield, and great reward. He is our peace in this storm. A great place to start is to memorize and meditate on verses just like these. He is with you, listen to Him…
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
