Hebrew 12:1-2 …let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Do you know why Jesus endured the cross? He did it for the joy set before Him. What is that joy? It is you,… and me! It was for the great joy of seeing you and I set free from sin and the power of death. As we celebrate Good Friday, the death of Jesus on the cross, let’s remember why He did it. For God so loved you and I that He died to remove the consequences of our sin. I want to encourage you today to fill this Easter season with thanks and praise as we remember and keep central it’s true meaning. Jesus death for sins, His resurrection to life and the joy of our invitation into His presence by His sacrificial work for us. Happy Good Friday. May your Easter season be a celebration of life. Blessings.
