Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
How are you doing in managing, protecting and strengthening the content and quality of your heart? As the proverb quoted above speaks to us, caring for, guarding the condition and content of your heart is the highest priority of healthy, Godly living. The main thing I want to say to you today is this: ABOVE ALL ELSE, GUARD YOUR HEART!
We can load our heart with garbage in this season of isolation. Fear is a constant assailant of our hearts and a primary tool of the enemy to damage our hearts. How do we allow fear into our lives? Well the most common way we invite fear into our heart is by what we view. What we watch on TV, what we view in our media and what we set our minds on as a result. Or we can choose to fill our hearts with good seed, choice nutrients and life. Edit your media… flush out the garbage. Spend less time watching TV and more time in the presence of the Lord.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Invite in the good stuff. Pray together with your spouse, family or friends. Worship and thanksgiving is a key to changing your perspective. Spend time thanking God for what He has given, and what He has promised to give you. Worship Him over everything your life and salvation promises. He is a faithful friend! Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Spend time with Him taking joy in the life He has given to you. Guard your heart and renew your life!
