The Humility of Jesus

The humility of Jesus is such a stark contrast to normal human behavior.  Take a moment to look at these statements of Jesus, the Lord of the Universe.  Observe His humility:“”The Son can do nothing by Himself” (John 5: 19)

“By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.” (John 5: 30)

“I do not accept glory from human beings” (John 5: 41)

“For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.” (John 6: 38)

“My teaching is not my own” (John 7: 16)

“I am not come of Myself” (John 7: 28)

“I do nothing of Myself” (John 8: 28)

“I have not come of Myself, but He sent Me” (John 8: 42).

“I am not seeking glory for Myself” (John 8: 50)

“The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority” (John 14: 10).

“These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me” (John 14: 24).”

If the Lord Jesus is our model for life, then join me in realizing that humility is one of the most important gifts that we can receive from God and learn to practice, in this life. I encourage you to review and consider these statements of Jesus and embrace what they reveal.

Lord, please teach me to live for your glory, and not my own.  Lord, help me to learn from your life how I am to live. Glory to your wonderful, humble, loving person.  In Jesus name.  Amen
