A Choice to Rejoice

Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Joy is an incredible healing agent.  Did you know that the joy that one person shares with another literally has the power to heal their soul! Rejoicing is basically the idea of making your joy known. Speaking it, dancing it, shouting it.  In recent decades the power of neuro science has shown us the objective truth that healthy human relationships, such as the joy of a mother loving her children, has the power to form and heal our brains.  This points to the God ordained truth that we were formed for relationship with God. Not just to please God; He really likes you – but, to bless, form and heal you also! Our emotions, will, brain and way of thinking, can be transformed by the very action of a joy filled relationship with God and His people.  On that note, I challenge you to read the text above again.  Realize that God is commanding you into healing relationships with Himself and His people.  He really does care about you.

Rejoice, give thanks, tell your friends, talk to your Father all the time, and a peace that passes mere words will guard your life in His loving presence.
