What Does God Really Want from You?

While many people have many different answers to this question, the amazing truth is that God’s primary purpose in creating you and I is to have relationship with us.  The brokenness of religion and His Church has often distorted this truth, but, clearly the Word of God says, in no uncertain terms, with direct statement and imagery, that God is after relationship with you and is willing to pay the greatest price for the healing and renewal of that relationship caused by our sin and rebellion.

Take a moment to think on some of these examples. The first and greatest commandment is to “love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength”.  The parable of the prodigal son is an image of the Fathers passionate heart to restore family relationship with you.  A primary image of what heaven will be about is the marriage feast of the Lamb of God and His bride, His Church, that is you and I.  In Genesis is clearly reveals the very reason we were created was to enter into a partnership of authority in overseeing creation with God our Father. The last of many, many truths that I will mention is the blatant statement we so often pass over in John 3:16. “For God SO LOVED the World that He gave His one and only Son,”

Today, I want to remind and challenge you to spend time with the Father in a simple conversation of love.  We call that prayer at other times, but right now I am trying to change your image of relating to God.  Come to your Father, lay down your burdens, He has paid the price for you to come boldly to Him.  He does not need your labor.  He has called you to do certain things so that you can do it TOGETHER with Him.  Love Him, Thank Him, receive His love.  Feel free to lay your thanks, complaints, joy, sorrow, laughter and lament at His feet.  Open the book, the Bible, in a new way and look for revelations of who your Papa is.  He wants to be found by you, He wants to speak to you in ever more direct and personal ways.  Friends, we are a family in Christ and our Father is eager to love us dearly.  Let’s open a new doorway of relationship with Him.  Come join the party.
